Our Story

History 

Workers Defense Action Fund is a member-led organization that is building power by mobilizing Latine Voters in Texas, electing immigrant and worker champions into office, and moving forward policies that change working conditions for all in Texas and move a pro-immigrant agenda to ensure that all in Texas have the ability to thrive.

Workers Defense Action Fund is a member-led organization that mobilizes Latine voters in Texas to build governing power and fight for worker and immigrant justice.

Accountability – We uphold our commitments and take account for our actins, because our people deserve nothing less 
Dignity – We value our people and believe that we are worthy of liberation
Love – We deeply care for each other as “compas” in the fight for immigratn and worker justice and continuously learn to show up better for one another. 
Respect – We honor one another’s differences, individual talents, cultures, backgrounds, and the roles we all play in making Texas a great state for all of us. 
Solidarity – We stand together as a community fighting against all forms of oppression and marginalization and join other movements that are also in the struggle for justice.

We believe that those who are closest to the pain are closest to the solution, our member-led model allows us to organize with those most impacted by providing them the tools needed to lead.

We are working to build governing power

It's not just about electing people to office, it's about electing the people that understand our struggle and are willing to work alongside the community to bring forward solutions together. We work to elect champions of our issues by mobilizing Latine voters to the polls and into the movement.
