Ana Gonzalez’s 6 Years of Service at Workers Defense

Over the past six years, Ana Gonzalez has been an integral part of Workers Defense. She’s led with heart supporting our members at the Texas Legislature and taken on tremendous fights to move the needle forward in policies that improve the lives of construction workers throughout the state. After six incredible years and victories for our members, we are sad to announce that this was Ana’s last week with Workers Defense. Join us in thanking Ana for her leadership and passion in serving immigrants, low-income workers, and Texans as a whole.

Over the course of her career with Workers Defense she led the charge to pass transformative policy, like Paid Sick Leave ordinances in Austin and San Antonio, relentlessly fighting to ensure higher standards on construction sites through our Better Builder® Program, and creating systemic change to guarantee essential worker protections for those building our state. As Ana takes the next step in her career continuing to champion issues important to our community, our staff and members are thankful for the opportunity to have spent the past six years organizing for change and building political power for our members.

We look forward to continuing to work with her in her new capacity. She’s not going far and she will always have a home at Workers Defense. Ana Gonzalez is truly an asset to the progressive movement and a tireless champion for Texans.

Please join me in sending Ana a thank you note for her six year career at Workers Defense.

In gratitude,

Co-Founder & Co-Executive Director, Workers Defense
